Shekhar Suman On Dekh Bhai Dekh: Shekhar Suman is going to debut on OTT with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic show ‘Hiramandi’. The actor will be seen playing the role of Nawab Zulfikar in this most awaited series. Amidst all this, the actor recently talked about his career in an interview. During this, Shekhar also remembered his most popular sitcom ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ of the 90s. Also made a shocking revelation about the shooting of the show.
Actors used to faint on the sets of ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’
Shekhar Suman, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan, recalled the days of shooting for ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ and told how the actor used to faint on the sets while shooting for the comedy-series. Shekhar recalled how the cast and crew used to work hard on the sets even without fans or air conditioners. “They used to take long shots of 10-20 minutes,” he said. The doors were closed from all sides. It was the first time we were shooting with multi-cam, with lots of big lights, and no fans or air conditioning. The man used to come out roasted, beaten, ruined, but no one complained.”
The actor further said, “When I turned to kiss a co-actor, I saw that she had fainted. Then, when my eyes fell on Farida ji (Farida Jalal), I saw that she was also lying there.
Shekhar Suman started his career with Utsav
Shekhar started his acting career with Girish Karnad’s film Utsav. In this film, he shared the screen with Rekha, Shankar Nag, Amjad Khan and Shashi Kapoor. Later he became very popular with the talk shows – ‘Movers N Shakers’, ‘Simply Shekhar’ and ‘Carry on Shekhar’. After this, Shekhar Suman appeared as a judge in standup comedy shows – ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and ‘Comedy Circus’. Let us tell you that Shekhar was last seen in Sanjay Dutt-Aditi Rao Hydari starrer ‘Bhoomi’ (2017).
Shekhar Suman’Hiramandi’ In playing an important role
Shekhar has played the role of Nawab Zulfikar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Heeramandi. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Fardeen Khan will also be seen in lead roles in the period-drama series. Shekhar’s son Adhyayan will also be seen in an important role in the show as Nawab Zorawar.
